In May last year RISING offered us a chance to dream.

We lost our White Night. We lost our Melbourne Festival, but we gained a new moon and a new opportunity.

We were asked to declare our biggest boldest idea and then make it 10x bigger.

To go where no local, independent artist has gone before.

1,130 of us answered the call.
And they picked 26 projects.
4 presented this year.

On May 26th this year, as the RISING Festival opens its doors to the public for the very first time, we are holding a ceremony for all the ideas that didn’t make the cut. A public reading of every single idea that was rejected by RISING’s ‘A Call To Artists’.

A reclamation.

A catharsis.

It will be a chance for us to laugh at our own ambition, drink to the ideas of others, and dream of what could have been.

Because what if someone else was dreaming right next door and you had no idea?

In response to Covid19 restrictions, Falling Festival was halted as a live happening on the night of the Supermoon, 2021 and was livestreamed to Instagram.
