As a special event during APAM Pony Cam warmly invites you to their Award-Winning Work

APAM x GRAND THEFT THEATRE

A collaboration between contemporary performance makers Pony Cam and established artist David Williams.
2022 Melbourne Fringe Winner: Best in Theatre

In short: 6 theatre makers re-create dozens of moments from performance history.

Moments from Hotel Pro Forma, Sidetrack Performance Group, The Rabble, Gob Squad, Roarawar Feartata, The Hayloft Project, Hofesh Shechter, Forced Entertainment and a bunch of other companies that you might not know by name.

Together, we unpick these moments and reincarnate them for the here and now.

We pollute the spaces with their messes.

We pervert our bodies with their intentions.

We dismember their theatrical legacies that were forged with love, sweat, accidents, fights, resistances, loneliness and fake blood.

This is a strikingly informal resuscitation of the memories you thought were lost to time.

"The show makes away with a king’s ransom of artistic highlights, but what it gives back is priceless – Grand Theft Theatre is a sensitive and intelligent exploration of the vital role memory plays in keeping theatre alive."
